The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Dillon Simpson to a one-year contract.
Simpson, 24, appeared in 53 games with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Bakersfield Condors last season, recording 11 points (3G, 8A) and 26 penalty minutes.

The 6'1", 198-pound blueliner also played in three games with the Oilers in 2016-17, appearing in his first career NHL game on December 8 against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Edmonton, Alberta native has played in 181 career AHL games over three seasons, posting 48 points (10G, 38A) and 60 penalty minutes.
Simpson was selected by Edmonton in the fourth round, 92nd overall in the 2011 NHL Draft.
