Oilers sign Roloson and Pisani

The Edmonton Oilers announced on Saturday that they have agreed to terms with right winger Fernando Pisani on a four-year contract and with goaltender Dwayne Roloson on a three-year deal.

Roloson (61", 178 lbs.) was instrumental in the Oilers Stanley Cup playoff run following the March 7th trade from Minnesota that saw the Oilers send their first round choice in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft to the Wild.

The 36-year-old native of Simcoe, Ontario provided the Oilers with stellar netminding during the final month of the regular season and was key to the teams drive to the Stanley Cup Final.

  • Pisani (61", 205 lbs.) enjoyed his finest season in the NHL in 2005-06, scoring a career-high 37 points in the regular season and exploding for an NHL-leading 14 goals during the Oilers Stanley Cup playoff drive.

  • The 29-year-old native of Edmonton, Alberta scored 18 goals and 19 assists in 80 games during the regular season, establishing single season career-highs for goals, assists, points and games played. His 37 points ranked him eighth on the Oilers scoring list and he was sixth in goals.

    Coming off a solid regular season, Pisani put together one of the more memorable performances in Oilers playoff history. In 24 post-season games, Pisani scored 14-4-18 to finish sixth in the Stanley Cup Playoff scoring race and third on the Oilers.
