Oilers Set to Open 2014 Training Camp

The Edmonton Oilers are set to kick off their 2014 Training Camp on Thursday, September 18th at Rexall Place.

In addition to the prospects continuing on from Oilers Rookie Camp, 38 players are scheduled to report to Rexall Place on Thursday, September 18th for main camp medical and physical testing.

Training Camp will commence Friday, September 19th at Rexall Place where players will hit the ice. They will take part in drills led by the Oilers coaching staff of Dallas Eakins, Keith Acton, Craig Ramsay and Rocky Thompson.Friday and Saturday practice sessions will be open to the public, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Rexall Place.

Training Camp will move to the Leduc Recreation Centre from September 23rd through the 28th. All practices will be open to the public.

The Oilers open their 2014 pre-season schedule on September 21st against the Calgary Flames with split squads facing off in both Edmonton and Calgary.

Following the series with Calgary, the Oilers hit the road for games in Winnipeg (September 24th), Saskatoon against Chicago (September 28th), and Vancouver (October 4th). The Oilers will play three games at Rexall Place, hosting the Winnipeg Jets (September 29th), Arizona Coyotes (October 1st) and the Vancouver Canucks (October 2nd).

The Oilers open the 2014-15 regular season on Thursday, October 9th when they play host to the Calgary Flames. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
