Oilers recall Plante; assign Chorney

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Alex Plante and assigned defenceman Taylor Chorney to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.

Plante, 22, has played in 17 games this season for the Barons recording five assists and 48 penalty minutes.
The 6’4”, 225-pound Brandon, Manitoba native was recalled earlier this season by Edmonton and appeared in one game collecting an assist. In eight career NHL games with the Oilers he has two assists and 13 penalty minutes.
Chorney, 24, played his first game this season with the Oilers Saturday night vs Chicago. The 6’0”, 190-pound Thunder Bay, ON native has one assist in four games with the Barons this season.

In 60 career NHL games Chorney has one goal and six assists.
