The Edmonton Oilers have recalled left wing Jean-Francois Jacques from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

  • Jacques, the Oilers third choice (2nd round) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, returns to the Oilers after being assigned to the Penguins on November 19th. He scored at more than a point-per-game pace while in the minors, netting 2-4-6 with 7 penalty minutes in five games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He was scoreless in four games with the Oilers this season.

    The 64", 217 pound forward played seven games with Edmonton in 2005-06, but spent the majority of that season with the AHLs Hamilton Bulldogs, where he scored 24-19-43 with 131 PIM in 65 games. After four seasons with Baie-Comeau of the QMJHL between 2001-02 and 2004-05, Jacques made his professional debut with the Edmonton Road Runners of the AHL in 2004-05. He was scoreless with five penalty minutes with the Oilers AHL affiliate.
