The Edmonton Oilers have added goaltender Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers to the roster on emergency recall from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Drouin-Deslauriers, a 6’4”, 189 pound native of St-Jean-Richelieu, Quebec, will join the Oilers for their road game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. It is the second time this season that the 23-year-old goaltender has been recalled from Springfield. He was previously recalled on November 13th, but did not see any playing time before being returned to Edmonton’s AHL affiliate on November 15th.
The Oilers’ second choice, 31st overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft has appeared in 26 games for the Falcons this season and is 14-8-3 with a 2.58 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage. He is ranked among the AHL leaders in wins (2nd) and save percentage (7th).
With the recall of Drouin-Deslauriers, Glenn Fisher has been recalled to Springfield from the ECHL’s Stockton Thunder. Fisher, who is 5-5-1 with a 3.51 goals-against average, a .893 save percentage and two shutouts in 13 games for Stockton, will join Springfield for its game in Houston tonight
