General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled goaltender Yann Danis from the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.
Danis, 30, has appeared in 33 games for the Barons this season sporting a league-leading 1.98 GAA with a 21-10-1 record.
The 6’0”, 182-pound Lafontaine, QC native is in his first season with the Oilers’ AHL affiliate after signing on as a free agent this summer. Danis, who was named to the 2012 AHL All-Star Game, has played in 49 NHL games in his career with Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils collecting a 16-21-4 record with a 2.69 GAA and .912 save percentage.
Danis played four seasons with Brown University of the ECAC where he posted a career 43-43-12 record with a 2.20 GAA and .930 save percentage. He was also named a Hobey Baker Finalist in 2004.
