Oilers recall Brossoit

The Edmonton Oilers announced today they have recalled goaltender Laurent Brossoit from the American Hockey League’s Bakersfield Condors.


Brossoit, 22, has appeared in 26 games with the Condors this season, posting a 14-8-3 record, a 2.70 goals against average, a .921 save percentage and three shutouts. He also represented the Condors at the 2016 AHL All Star Game.

The Surrey, British Columbia native played in his first National Hockey League game last season, making 49 saves as the Oilers dropped a 3-1 decision to the San Jose Sharks.

A former member of the Western Hockey League's Edmonton Oil Kings, Brossoit posted a career 88-34-4 record, including a 2.59 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. He also led the Oil Kings to the WHL Final in 2013, where they lost the Portland Winterhawks.

The Edmonton Oilers also announced they have assigned goaltender Anders Nilsson to the Bakersfield Condors.
