Oilers recall Alex Plante

Alex Plante is playing in his first professional season.

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Alex Plante from Springfield of the American Hockey League.

Plante, 20, has two goals and seven assists in 48 games this year. He also has 122 PIM.

Last year the 6’4” Brandon, Manitoba native played with the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League where he collected 45 points (8G, 37A) and 157 PIM. Plante is expected to play in his first National Hockey League game tomorrow night when the Carolina Hurricanes pay a visit to Rexall Place.
