All NHL teams are coming together this October to take a stand against cancer and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) and the Oilers Ladies are doing their part through the 2009 Rally Against Cancer. The League wide activities are part of the NHL and NHLPA’s Hockey Fights Cancer initiative; all proceeds from the Oilers Rally Against Cancer will be distributed to the Kids with Cancer Society, the Alberta Cancer Foundation and the EOCF.Online Auction
Right now Oilers fans can bid on one-of-a-kind Oilers memorabilia in the Rally Against Cancer Online Auction. Highlighted lots include Boys on the Bus alumni team signed items, an assortment of autographed game-used equipment and game-worn jerseys from Game Seven of the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals. The auction will close on November 2nd at 8:00pm with staggered times.
On October 29th, Oilers fans will also be able to purchase the newest item in the ever-popular retro line-up. When the Oilers battle the Red Wings, the Oilers Ladies will be selling a limited number of Oilers retro scarves at Rexall Place for $20. Scarves also come complete with an autographed player card. Limited seats remain available for Thursday night’s game, don’t miss out on this great opportunity to cheer on the Oilers and show your support for Hockey Fights Cancer.
