Oilers host 2010 Draft Party presented by ATB Financial at Rexall Place

Edmonton, AB – On Friday, June 25, hockey fans are invited to attend the 2010 Oilers Draft Party presented by ATB Financial to witness a landmark day for the Edmonton Oilers. The Draft Party at Rexall Place will feature live coverage of the First Round of the 2010 NHL Draft with appearances by a number of Oilers personalities including Sam Gagner, Jordan Eberle, Devan Dubnyk, Ladislav Smid and Jeff Deslauriers.

“Picking 1st overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft will be another first time experience for the Edmonton Oilers and our wonderful fans,” said Oilers President and CEO, Patrick LaForge. “In celebration of this historical event and in honour of the great new player we will bring to our team, the 2010 Draft Party will be the best darn hockey party in these parts since 2006 and we Oilers fans know how to have a party.”

The 2010 Oilers Draft Party will kick off at 3:30pm with a free BBQ outside Rexall Place.  At 4:00pm the Draft Pre-Show begins, followed by the 2010 NHL Entry Draft at 5:00pm which will be shown live on the video scoreboard until the end of the First Round. The event features on-site player interviews, live satellite hook-up to the Oilers Draft table in Los Angeles and a variety of prizes including the first 100 jerseys of the Oilers First Round selection.

Tickets for the Oilers Draft Party are only $5 with the proceeds benefiting the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation for distribution to charities throughout Oil Country. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 11 at 10:00am and can be purchased at, the Rexall Place Box Office or by calling 780-414-GOAL (4625).

The 2010 Oilers Draft Party is presented by ATB Financial in partnership with 630 CHED, Joe FM, CISN Country and The Edmonton Journal.
