(Edmonton, AB) - The Edmonton Oilers and ATCO are gearing up to hit the road once again for the 9th annual Oilers Hockey Clinic presented by ATCO. This year's clinic will head northwest, visiting Grande Prairie, Alberta for the first time in the clinic's history.

Held at both the Eastlink Centre and Coca-Cola Centre from May 26 - 28, 2017, the clinic is free of charge for 100 lucky participants in the community and gives players aged seven to 13 the opportunity to experience high-calibre training while further developing their hockey and life skills.

"The Oilers are extremely proud to support grassroots programs in Oil Country that help develop our youth and improve the game of hockey," said Bob Nicholson, CEO and Vice Chair of Oilers Entertainment Group. "Thanks to the wonderful partnership we have with our new partner, ATCO, the Edmonton Oilers are very excited to bring the Oilers Hockey Clinic to Grande Prairie, a city full of Oilers pride, for the first time."

To jump-start the weekend, all Grande Prairie and surrounding residents are invited to a complimentary Oilers Community Kick-Off presented by ATCO held on the Friday night from 5:00 to 8:00 PM MT. Oilers Hockey Clinic participants will have the chance to register while the community enjoys complimentary food, a fun atmosphere and the presence of Oilers Alumni alongside the Orange and Blue Ice Crew for games and giveaways.

"Grande Prairie is home to so many members of the ATCO family, including our employees and customers, and we are extremely excited to partner with the Oilers to bring this event to the community," said ATCO Vice President of Marketing & Communications Carson Ackroyd. "We know that supporting active, healthy lifestyles in the communities where our people live and work is important, and this program allows us be involved in a way that will have a lasting positive impact."

Following Friday's community festivities, Oilers Hockey Clinic will follow on Saturday and Sunday featuring multiple daily on-ice sessions, dryland training, concussion management sessions and nutrition clinics to help further the development of each participant. Instructors from Oilers Hockey School and Hockey Alberta will be onsite to ensure the students have a great learning experience in a fun environment.

All local players aged seven to 13 that are interested in participating, male or female, are invited to register by 5:00 PM MT by Tuesday, April 11, 2017. A random lottery will follow to determine the lucky participants.
