Oilers Fans Celebrate Championship Banners

by Staff Writer / Edmonton Oilers
On Monday, November 21, when the San Jose Sharks surface in Edmonton, the Edmonton Oilers will introduce 22 new Championship Banners high above the ice at Rexall Place. The banners will commemorate the Oilers 5 Stanley Cups, 8 Smythe Division Championships, 6 Campbell Conference Championships, 2 NHL President's Trophies, and 1 NHL League Championship. The Oilers original banners are being retired out of necessity, as many are showing significant signs of aging after 20 years of service. The new banners will be exact replicas of the originals.
