Oilers fan Colin Oberst wins anthem contest
by edmontonoilers.com staff / Edmonton OilersHockey fans in Oil Country have another reason to be proud today as Oilers fan and Beaumont, AB resident Colin Oberst was announced as the winner of Hockey Night In Canada’s anthem competition. Along with the notoriety of composing Canada’s unofficial second national anthem, Oberst wins the grand prize of $100,000 and half the ongoing royalties, with the other half invested in minor hockey.
