General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have assigned centre Ryan Potulny to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Potulny appeared in four games with the Oilers since his recall from Edmonton’s AHL affiliate on January 11th and scored three assists. He put together a two-game scoring streak, netting points in his first two games with the Oilers. The 6’0”, 190 pound native of Grand Forks, North Dakota scored two assists in his first game with the Edmonton on January 11th versus St. Louis and then added a single assist at Washington on January 13th.
At the time of his recall, Potulny led the Falcons in scoring with 17 goals and 14 assists for 31 points in 36 games. The centreman was named to the PlanetUSA roster for the upcoming 2009 AHL All-Star Game to be played at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts on Monday, January 26th.
