General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have assigned left-winger Magnus Paajarvi
to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.
Tambellini said, “We believed we had confirmation to recall Magnus as one of our four call-ups after the trade deadline. The league informed us today the only way he could be recalled was under an emergency recall basis.”
Paajarvi, 20, has 22 points (5G, 17A) in 27 games with the Barons this season. He is 2nd on the team behind current-Oiler Linus Omark
with a 0.81 points-per-game total, and earlier this month he had a seven-game point streak (3G, 6A) . Paajarvi also has two goals and six assists in 41 games with the Oilers.
The 6’2”, 204-pound Norrkoping, Sweden native played 80 games last season with the Oilers collecting 15 goals and 19 assists.
