Oilers assign Alex Plante

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have assigned defenceman Alex Plante to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.

Plante, 22, was recalled on December 26 and played one game before suffering a concussion. In three games this season with the Oilers he has one assist.
The 6’4”, 225-pound Brandon, Manitoba native has also played in 28 games with the Barons scoring a goal and adding 10 assists along with 63 penalty minutes.
Plante was selected by Edmonton in the 1st round, 15th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
