Oilers announce 2009-10 pre-season schedule

The Edmonton Oilers will open the 2009-10 season with an eight-game pre-season schedule, which will include four home games at Rexall Place and four away games.

Edmonton will open the pre-season with five games in six nights beginning Tuesday, September 15th, when they head south to face-off against their provincial rivals, the Calgary Flames at the Pengrowth Saddledome.  The next night, the Oilers will play their first home game of the pre-season schedule at Rexall Place, hosting Dwayne Roloson and the New York Islanders, on Wednesday September 16th.

The Florida Panthers will visit Rexall Place on Friday, September 18th, followed by away games at Vancouver on Saturday, September 19th and a neutral site game in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on Sunday, September 20th, where the Oilers will go head-to-head with the New York Islanders for the second time in five days.

Calgary will make the trip north Wednesday, September 23rd to play the Oilers at Rexall Place.  The Oilers will again play a neutral site game in Winnipeg, Manitoba, when the Tampa Bay Lightning play hosts at the MTS Centre on Thursday September 24th.

The Oilers will conclude the 2009-10 pre-season with a home game versus the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday, September 27th
