Oilers agree to terms with Anton Belov

General Manager Craig MacTavish announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with Omsk defenceman Anton Belov on a one-year entry level contract.


Belov, 26, has spent the past five seasons with Avangard Omsk in the KHL, recording 64 points (15G, 49A) in 227 career games.

In 2012-13 he appeared in 46 games posting a career high in goals and assists (9-17-26) and a plus/minus rating of 19. In 12 playoff games he tallied four points (1G, 3A) with a rating of plus 24.

The 6’4, 219-pound defenceman played for Russia at the 2013 World Hockey Championship, registering four points (1G, 3A) in eight games.
