Oilers Agree to Terms with Andrew Ference

General Manager Craig MacTavish announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with defenceman Andrew Ference on a four year contract.

Ference, 34, has spent the past seven seasons with the Boston Bruins, accumulating 94 points (18G, 76A) and 278 penalty minutes in 373 games. He helped the Bruins to their sixth Stanley Cup in 2011, recording four points (1G, 3A) in seven games during the playoffs.

In 2012-13, the Edmonton, Alberta native appeared in 48 games for Boston, posting 13 points (4G, 9A) and 35 penalty minutes.

The 5’11”, 189-pound defenceman has played 14 NHL seasons with Pittsburgh, Calgary and Boston, registering 193 points (37G,156A) and 645 penalty minutes in 760 career games.
