General Manager Craig MacTavish announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with centre Will Acton, right wing Ryan Hamilton and left wing Jesse Joensuu on two year contracts.
Acton, 25, has played the last two seasons with the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League, registering 35 points (15G, 20A) and 118 penalty minutes in 136 games. He also recorded eight points (5G, 3A) and 21 penalty minutes in 26 games playoff games with the Marlies.
The 6’2”, 190-pound centre is the son of Oilers Associate Coach Keith Acton.
Hamilton, 28, appeared in 12 games with the Maple Leafs over the past two seasons, posting three assists. The 6'2", 219 pound winger also appeared in one playoff game with the Leafs last season, picking up one assist.
The Oshawa, Ontario native has spent the last five seasons with the Toronto Marlies, accumulating 165 points (87G, 78A) and 158 penalty minutes in 258 games. He tallied 10 points (4G, 6A) in 27 playoff games with the Marlies.
Joensuu, 25, played in seven games with the Islanders in 2012-13, posting two assists, six penalty minutes and appeared in one playoff game.
The 6’4”, 209-pound winger has spent five seasons with the New York Islanders organization, registering 126 points (50G, 76A) and 202 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 10 AHL playoff games with Bridgeport, recording five points (2G, 3A) and 10 penalty minutes.
