Edmonton Oilers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, the club has acquired winger Lauri Korpikoski from the Arizona Coyotes, in exchange for centre Boyd Gordon.
Korpikoski, 28, spent last season with the Arizona Coyotes, posting 21 points (6G, 15A) and 12 penalty minutes in 69 games.
The 6’1”, 205-pound winger has appeared 469 career NHL games with the New York Rangers and the Arizona Coyotes, notching 159 points (68G, 91A) and 112 penalty minutes.
The Turku, Finland native has also played in 30 career playoff games, registering five points (2G, 3A) and six penalty minutes.
Korpikoski has represented his country several times internationally, most recently at the 2014 Sochi Olympics in Russia, recording four points (2G, 2A) and two penalty minutes in six games. He also participated in the 2010 and 2013 World Hockey Championships, as well as the 2004 and 2005 World Junior Hockey Championships.
