Oilers Acquire Defenceman Philip Larsen
by Edmonton Oilers Press Release / Edmonton OilersLarsen, 23, has spent the past four seasons with the Dallas Stars organization, registering 19 points (5G, 14A) and 34 penalty minutes in 95 games with the Stars. In 66 games with Texas, he has 31 points (5G, 26A).
In 2012-13, the 6’0”, 190-pound blueliner, recorded five points (2G,3A) and 18 penalty minutes in 32 games with Dallas.
The native of Esbjerg, Denmark has represented his country several times internationally, both at the World Junior Hockey Championships (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009) and the World Hockey Championships (2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013).
Larsen was originally selected by Dallas in the 5th round, 149th overall in the 2008 NHL Draft.
