The Edmonton Oilers announced today that Molson, their longest standing corporate partner, has once again extended their partnership agreement through the 2008-09 NHL season. Over the years, Molson has played an integral role with the Edmonton Oilers as sponsor of the Molson Cup Three Stars and title sponsor of the Molson Canadian Heritage Classic.
“Molson has been a key part of the Oilers family since the very first NHL puck was dropped in Edmonton back in October of 1979,” said Patrick LaForge, President & CEO of the Edmonton Oilers. “As Canada’s oldest brewer, Molson has been a leader in promoting hockey for decades, and continues to speak directly to that hockey-loving audience. We’re proud to have them on our bench.”
“This is an exciting day for Molson and we are proud to continue to play our part in the Edmonton community through the extension of our longstanding sponsorship of the Oilers,” said Greg Ross, Molson’s District Sales Manager for Edmonton. “We would like to thank Oilers fans for supporting Molson and look forward to continuing to celebrate the team’s successes with them.”
