The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation announced today the appointment of Edmonton Oilers executive, Natalie Minckler, to the position of Executive Director of the Foundation and Director of Community Development. Working closely with the hockey organization and the community at large, she will oversee all of the charitable and community based activities for the Club.
Oilers team President Patrick LaForge stated, “I’m so pleased to see Natalie undertake this challenge. She’s proven time and again over many years with the Oilers that she can build relationships, and develop strategies that help us achieve our business goals, large and small. The Oilers are really owned by the fans in Oil Country, therefore, a leader with Natalie’s superior business skills directing our community plans, should be a perfect fit.”
Now in her tenth year with the team, Natalie began her career with the Oilers in 1998 in the Corporate Communications and Marketing Department and has over the years served as Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing, Director of Marketing and most recently as Director of Fan Development.
The Chairman of the Board of the Oilers Community Foundation, Doug Goss, also commented on her appointment by saying, “As Executive Director of the Oilers Community Foundation Natalie will be responsible for continuing fund development and fundraising initiatives that have resulted in the Foundation being an NHL leader that currently donates $1-million annually to various initiatives in Oil Country. Our Foundation has also undertaken a very large Legacy Project with our friends at Edmonton’s Inner City High which is perfectly suited to Natalie's drive and initiative. With Natalie's stewardship I know the future is bright for our Foundation.”
