Lucic-kid 7-2

When left wing Milan Lucic was asked Friday what
his primary reason was for signing with the Edmonton Oilers
, he said, "Connor McDavid."
He wore that admiration for McDavid on Saturday.

Lucic,
who signed a seven-year, $42 million contract with the Oilers on Friday
, was spotted Saturday at Edmonton International Airport wearing an Oilers T-shirt with McDavid's name and No. 97 on it.
Despite missing 37 games last season because of a broken collarbone, McDavid finished with 48 points in 45 games and was third in Calder Trophy voting. Lucic expects to play on a line with McDavid at center, and appreciates what that means.
"Just getting an opportunity to play with one of the best players of this time," Lucic said Friday. "I know he missed a good chunk of the season last year with an injury, but … to have that opportunity to play with a player like that doesn't come around so often."
Lucic, 28, had 55 points in 81 games with the Los Angeles Kings last season. In 647 career regular-season games with the Boston Bruins and Kings, Lucic has 159 goals and 397 points.
