Mikhnov draws in

by Staff Writer / Edmonton Oilers
Oilers forward Alexei Mikhnov will be making his NHL debut tonight, suiting up for the Oilers in their game against Phoenix.

"They've all been looking for an opportunity. Alexei's deserving of the opportunity. He's worked very hard," Oilers head coach Craig MacTavish said. "He's done a good job since he's been here and we look forward to seeing what he can do tonight in the game."

MacTavish also stated that Mikhnov will see some time on the power play in all likelihood.

"We want to see him. It's going to be an area of strength for him. We'd like to see what he can do. He'll get some opportunity there for sure - I'd be shocked if he didn't."

In other lineup news, he said that in Moreau's absence, Raffi Torres will be playing on a line with Jarret Stoll and Fernando Pisani.

"They've played well together before. Fernie and Raffi were effective in the playoffs and hopefully that'll help both of them."
