Connor McDavid's name is one that has been on a lot of people's lips here in Los Angeles. Many, from Wayne Gretzky and former players to current NHL stars, have spoken high praise for the Oilers young captain.
Gretzky last night said that Sidney Crosby is the best player in the NHL currently, and that McDavid is chasing that status.

"That's pretty special, just to be mentioned in the same sentence as a guy like Crosby and that kind of thing," said McDavid. "Then it's coming from a guy like Wayne Gretzky, it's pretty special. Definitely means a lot."
The great Peter Forsberg offered some extremely high praise of McDavid as well, saying if he could come back as a player he'd want to be McDavid.
"He's better at everything than I was," Forsberg said last night at NHL 100. "He skates faster. He sees the game. But I really enjoy seeing him play. He's everywhere on the ice, and he's making his team win. If I could start over I'd like to be like him."
