MacTavish on Hemsky, Deslauriers and more

by staff / Edmonton Oilers
On Monday, the Edmonton Oilers boarded a plane in the morning to begin a road trip that will take them through three NHL cities in four days with destination number one being Washington. Oilers head coach MacTavish addressed the media once the plane got up in the air and he touched on a number of topics.

Among them:
  • The status of Ales Hemsky (who is on the trip) - "We'll see how he feels tomorrow. It's going to take him a little while to get back."
  • The return to the lineup of Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers - "I don't know right now that we can get off Roli... probably go with Matty before Jeff. I'd like to get Matty a start here on the road."
  • The status of Robert Nilsson (who is not on the trip) - "He had a setback. He's going to ride the bike and we'll start back at ground zero with him."
  • Plus, an assessment of the team as the season hits the midway point.
