Oilers Injury Report >>

20:00: The game is now underway.

18:27: The Sharks scored a weird one early on. Following a shot from the left circle by Joonas Donskoi, the puck went off the shoulder of Cam Talbot and then dropped to the feet of the Oilers netminder. He lost sight of it but the Oilers couldn't clear the puck out of harm's way before the Sharks pounced on it. Logan Couture backhanded the puck at the top of the crease into the back of the net. | SJ 1, EDM 0

12:00: Oilers manage to turn the tables after the unfortunate start, generating a ton of zone time and good chances in front of Sharks starting goalie James Reimer. Shots on goal are 7-5 eight minutes in.

4:20: Jordan Eberle upended Paul Martin in the offensive zone, resulting in a tripping penalty, giving San Jose the game's first man advantage of the evening.

4:10: Only 10 seconds into the power play, Couture wired a shot from the right circle past Talbot to extend San Jose's lead with a power play goal. | SJ 2, EDM 0

2:45: Shots now 11-9 Oilers with the opening period winding down.

0.0: Final shot count in the period was 12-9 Edmonton.

20:00: The second period is now underway.

18:00: Marc-Edouard Vlasic took a penalty, giving the Oilers their first power play of the game.

13:20: Sharks kill off the penalty. Only one shot in the period so far and it was by San Jose.

10:00: Things start to get chippy in front of the Sharks net with some pushing and shoving from both sides. No penalties, however. Shots now 14-11 Oilers.

5:57: San Jose extended its lead to three goals after Joe Pavelski batted the puck out of the air following a wrist shot from the point by Martin. | SJ 3, EDM 0

0.0: Period two is over. Shots in the period were even at 7-7. Overall in the game, Oilers have a 19-16 edge on the shot clock.

20:00: Period three starts now.

17:28: Anton Lander's blast from the point rang off the post behind Reimer and out.

16:50: Coach McLellan starts shuffling up the lines to try and spark some offence out of his team. He puts McDavid with Hall and Yakupov.

14:50: Jordan Eberle takes the ice with Leon Draisaitl and Patrick Maroon.

11:05: Talbot snags a shot from Patrick Marleau out of the air.

5:52: Shots are 28-21 for Edmonton with time winding down.

3:49: Matt Hendricks was hit awkwardly into the boards and went down looking very hurt. He skated off on his own strength.

3:49: Roman Polak took an interference penalty on the play, sending Edmonton to the power play for the second time on the night.

1:40: After Polak came out of the box, Darnell Nurse dropped the gloves and pummelled Polak to the ice. He busted the Shark open. Nurse gets two for roughing.

54.6: Sharks, unhappy with the fact Nurse didn't receive an instigator, had some words for the officials and the bench received an unsportsmanlike conduct minor.

0.0: Final shot count 31-22 for the Oilers.
