Oilers Injury Report >>

20:00: Tonight's game is now underway.

16:40: No shots on goal just past the three-minute mark of the game.

16:31: The first shot on goal came when Benoit Pouliot made a nice backhand pass to a streaking Connor McDavid up the middle of the ice. He made no mistake, deking out Leafs starting goaltender Jonathan Bernier. | EDM 1, TOR 0

11:54: Toronto got that goal back less than five minutes later. Josh Leivo wired a wrist shot from the left circle that beat Talbot top corner. | EDM 1, TOR 1

6:11: Shots are 9-4 for Toronto two-thirds of the way through the opening period.

4:40: Talbot comes up huge with a save on Leo Komarov after the Leafs forward skated in alone on a breakaway.

2:47: The first penalty of the game goes to Eric Gryba after he trips a Leafs player behind the Oilers net. Result is Toronto heading to the power play.

0.0: Oilers kill off the penalty. Shots after one period were 13-4 for the Leafs.

20:00: Period two has begun.

18:30: Nick Spaling took a holding penalty, sending the Oilers to their first power play of the game.

14:39: Leafs kill off that penalty but shots in the period are 6-0 Edmonton so far.

13:35: Oilers get a fortunate bounce in front of the net with the puck bouncing right onto the stick of Jordan Eberle who quickly releases it with a shot past Bernier to put the home team back in front. | EDM 2, TOR 1

13:19: Darnell Nurse gets two for goaltender interference, putting the Leafs on the power play trying to steal back some momentum. Shots in goal in the period are 10-0 Oilers not even seven minutes in. Oilers now outshooting Toronto 14-13 in the game overall.

9:55: Nurse went right back to the penalty box after taking a holding minor just past the midway point of the game.

5:43: Edmonton's penalty parade continued as Eric Gryba took a holding penalty of his own not long after Nurse exited the box. Toronto went on their fourth power play of the game.

3:00: Oilers kill off the penalty. The sequence of Leafs power plays resulted in a huge momentum shift with Toronto outshooting Edmonton 12-2 over the prior 10 minutes.

2:40: Daniel Winnik takes a hooking penalty and now it's Edmonton's turn to go on the PP.

1:24: McDavid spotted Eberle with a pass across the slot that number 14 corralled then wired a shot in for his second of the game, converting on the power play. | EDM 3, TOR 1

14.5: Toronto got that goal back when the puck took a weird hop off a shot by Jake Gardiner up and over Talbot. | EDM 3, TOR 2

0.0: Shots after 40 minutes were 26-19 for Toronto.

20:00: The third period is now underway.

16:00: With Bernier completely out of position, Hall's attempt at a wide-open net was blocked in front.

13:09: Shots are 29-25 for Toronto seven minutes into the third.

11:59: P-A Parenteau gets two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct to give the Oilers a power play chance to get the insurance marker.

10:54: Michael Grabner received two minutes for hooking Taylor Hall, but the Oilers didn't get a two-man advantage because Hall also got two for embellishment on the play.

9:42: Lauri Korpikoski got two minutes for hooking, resulting in a fifth man advantage for the Leafs as they attempt to tie the game.

6:26: Shots on goal are 33-28 Toronto with 6:26 to play in the third.

6:05: McDavid wired a shot from the high slot past Bernier to give the Oilers a two-goal lead. It was McDavid's fourth point of the game and second goal. | EDM 4, TOR 2

5:06: Hendricks gets shoved into the boards by Parenteau but the Leafs forward's stick got high on Hendricks and as a result the Oilers go back on the PP.

4:04: Marincin gets two for delay of game after clearing the puck over the glass. Two-man advantage for the Oilers for the first time this season (aside from a brief eight-second five-on-three earlier this year).

53.9: McDavid chips the puck up to Eberle who scores into the empty net for his first career NHL hat trick.
