Oilers Injury Report >>

20:00: Tonight's game is now underway.

19:07: The Oilers had a couple of great chances in the opening minute. Leon Draisaitl tried to beat out Kings starting goalie Jonathan Quick in front of the net but the L.A. netminder was equal to the task, kicking out his right pad. Teddy Purcell also had an opportunity at the side of the net but was denied.

12:22: Shots almost eight minutes in were 6-2 for Edmonton.

7:42: On a quick one-timer from the left circle, Dustin Brown rang a shot off the post behind Oilers goaltender Cam Talbot.

6:04: Matt Hendricks was sent off for tripping to give the Kings the first power play of the game.

5:49: In response to Milan Lucic's hit on Lauri Korpikoski, Darnell Nurse drops the gloves with Lucic 15 seconds into the PP. It was an even draw. 3:11: Oilers kill off the penalty. Shots are now 13-8 for Edmonton.

0.0: Shots after one were 13-10 for the Oilers.

20:00: Period two has begun.

18:45: Oilers announce that Iiro Pakarinen will not return tonight. 16:55: Edmonton has the only three shots of the period so far, outshooting L.A. 16-10 in the game overall.

15:38: The Kings get on the board first. Dwight King's shot from the side of the net finds a hole and beats Cam Talbot. | LA 1, EDM 0

14:18: Kings double their lead after Michael Mersch picks up the puck in the corner and drives to the net before jamming the puck in past Talbot. | LA 2, EDM 0

14:02: 16 seconds later, Tyler Toffoli's shot beats Talbot and suddenly within the span of 1:36 the Kings have scored three goals and lead 3-0. | LA 3, EDM 0

12:55: Jamie McBain rubs out Hall along the boards, giving Edmonton its first man advantage with a chance to get some of that lost momentum back.

10:04: Oilers don't score on that power play, but they do score on Benoit Pouliot's shot off the rush to draw back within a pair. | LA 3, EDM 1

6:38: After falling behind 3-0, the Oilers dominate the play, outshooting the Kings 9-0 over an eight minute stretch.

5:42: However, just like that the Kings go on the attack and score. Brown spots Lewis with a cross-ice pass and Lewis makes no mistake, firing it past the glove of an outstretched Nilsson. | LA 4, EDM 1

0.0: Shots after 40 minutes were 30-24 for the Oilers.

20:00: Period three starts now.

18:01: Oilers draw back within a pair of goals after Mark Letestu quickly fired home a backhand feed by Korpikoski from behind the net. | LA 4, EDM 2

16:53: Edmonton continues to pressure the Kings to try and get back in the game and it results in McNabb going to the box for two minutes for L.A. Oilers head back on the power play.

14:53: Oilers take four shots on the power play but Kings kill it off. Shots in the period are 10-2 for Edmonton.

9:52: After Hall was clipped with a high stick with no penalty called, about 30 seconds later it was he who got penalized for taking down Jake Muzzin at the Edmonton blueline.

8:02: After a great sprawling save by Nilsson, Brown picked up the loose puck at the top of the crease and backhanded it over a fallen Oilers goaltender to once again put the Kings up by three. | LA 5, EDM 2

2:30: Shots on goal are 41-32 for Edmonton.

0.0: That's a wrap. Oilers fall 5-2 and the final shot count is 44-33 for Edmonton.
