The play went back down the ice where Joe Colborne was stationed in the crease of Ben Scrivens and swept the puck over the goal line after a scramble in front. 14:00: Taylor Hall wires a shot off the post behind Hiller. 8:02: Oilers carry most of the play after the Calgary goal, outshooting the Flames 8-5 in the period through the first 12 minutes of the opening frame.

2:04: Calgary finally managed to double their lead. Mikael Granlund corralled a pass across the crease from Jooris, got a handle on the puck and then roofed it over a sprawled Scrivens for the marker. | CGY 2, EDM 0

20:00: The third period is now underway. 17:50: The first penalty of the game went to Keith Aulie, who received two minutes for cross-checking Colborne. This put the Flames on the power play.

17:44: Only six seconds into the man advantage, Dennis Wideman blasted his 15th goal of the season by Scrivens to make it a three-goal game. | CGY 3, EDM 0

8:35: Hiller stuck out his left pad to make a nice save on Taylor Hall as the Oilers forward tried to jam the puck in after a wild hop.
