FIRST PERIOD
20:00: After an excellent ceremony honouring the Troops, the game has begun.

17:00: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins on only his seocnd shift of the game, nearly scored as his wrist shot from the left circle rang off the post behind Coyotes starting goaltender Mike Smith.

16:09: Smith made a nice glove save on a redirection by Patrick Maroon as Oilers get the early jump on Arizona.

14:00: Doan and Hall had an exchange at the player bench, where Doan cheapshotted Hall in the midsection. Hall crumpled to the ice and barely got into the bench. He and Doan had words while on the bench and Hall made it back out on his next shift.

10:01: Leon Draisaitl takes a hooking penalty and Martin Hanzal gets two for embellishment, setting up a four-on-four situation. Shots on goal midway through the second are 6-2 Oilers.

8:55: Max Domi wired a shot off the post behind Talbot then coming back the other way, Smith denied McDavid off the rush.

7:34: Martin Hanzal's shot from the side boards takes a wild bounce after being tipped by Viktor Tikhonov and finds its way past Talbot to give Arizona the lead. | ARI 1, EDM 0



6:05: Maroon and Domi each get two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct to set up another four-on-four situation.

2:45: Another four-on-four situation after Jordan Martinook tripped up McDavid followed by a slash by Zack Kassian.

3.1: Right at the end of the period, Eberle was hooked by Klas Dahlbeck to finally get the Oilers on the power play.

0.0: Shots after one were 12-5 for Edmonton.

FIRST PERIOD HIGHLIGHTS



SECOND PERIOD

20:00: Second period starts now. Oilers have 1:56 left on the power play.

16:50: Zybnek Michalek got hit in the throat with the puck and had to be helped off the ice in what was a scary situation.

15:36: Anthony Duclair was sent off for interference, giving the Oilers their second power play of the game.

13:36: Despite a handful of chances to score, Coyotes kill off the penalty. Shots are now 19-8 for Edmonton (7-3 in the period).

13:04: Antoine Vermette wired a shot from the right circle high blocker side on Talbot. | ARI 2, EDM 0



11:36: Eberle takes a holding penalty, giving the Coyotes their first power play.

11:29: Adam Cracknell cleared the puck over the glass from his own zone resulting in a delay-of-game penalty and a two-man advantage for the Coyotes.

9:43: With seven seconds left in Eberle's penalty, Alex Tanguay wired a shot top corner from the point that eluded Talbot and extended Arizona's lead to 3-0. | ARI 3, EDM 0



7:19: Shots are now 20-15 for Edmonton.

4:12: Cracknell was denied on the breakaway by Smith and then crashed the net for the rebound, shaking up the Coyotes goaltender.

SECOND PERIOD HIGHLIGHTS



THIRD PERIOD

20:00: Period three starts now.

19:15: In an effort to spark some offence, Coach McLellan puts McDavid out there with Hall and Eberle.

16:08: Shots are 7-2 Oilers in the period and 32-19 overall in the game.

13:16: McDavid chipped the puck up to Hall who broke in alone on goal. His deke attempt was stopped by Smith but he drew a hooking penalty on Connor Murphy.

10:26: Shortly after the penalty expired, Vermette put home a rebound to extend Arizona's lead to four goals. | ARI 4, EDM 0



7:32: Shots now 40-26 Oilers.

6:43: Connauton and Maroon dropped the gloves but weren't able to engage in any fisticuffs thanks to the officials. Both got 10-minute misconducts in addition to Kassian.

0.0: Final shot count is 44-29 for Edmonton but Coyotes come away with the win.
