FIRST PERIOD

20:00: Tonight's game is now underway.

18:24: It didn't take the Oilers long to get on the board. Lauri Korpikoski from the top of the crease tucked the puck through the legs of Blues starting goaltender Brian Elliott. First shot of the game and first goal for Edmonton. | EDM 1, STL 0




17:25: Taylor Hall had a point-blank chance from the slot but his shot was kicked away by Elliott.

16:46: St. Louis came right back and scored to tie the game up at 1-1. Troy Brouwer's shot was knocked away by the blocker of Oilers starting goalie Cam Talbot but the rebound went right to Jori Lehtera who had a wide-open net to deposit the puck. | EDM 1, STL 1



9:36: Just past the midway point of the opening period, shots were 7-5 for Edmonton.

6:23: Strong forechecking by Anton Slepyshev drew the game's first penalty. Slepyshev was hooked by Carl Gunnarsson while chasing the puck into the corner of the Blues zone. This game Edmonton the first power play of the game.

2:43: Oilers are unable to covert on the PP. Shots are 10-7 Edmonton late in the first.

0.0: Shot count finishes 10-7 Oilers and the period ends tied 1-1.

SECOND PERIOD

20:00: Period two starts now.

16:36: Taylor Hall upended Alex Steen behind the Blues net, giving St. Louis their first crack at the power play tonight.

15:51: Talbot slid across to deny Paul Stastny at the right side of the net and keep the game knotted at 1-1. 14:06: The penalty is killed off and shots are now even at 10-10.

10:56: Colton Parayko received two minutes for hooking to send Edmonton on the power play for the second time on the night.

6:29: Oilers went back on the power play when Vladimir Tarasenko cross-checked Connor McDavid deep in the St. Louis zone. At the TV timeout, Ryan Smyth is introduced as the Oilers alumni for the night and receives a standing ovation. 5:17: Edmonton buzzes around the Blues net but can't solve Elliott. Shots now 17-12 Oilers.

3:59: Right off the draw, the puck goes back to Tarasenko who rifles it from the top of the left circle past Talbot to give St. Louis their first lead of the night. | STL 2, EDM 1



0.0: Shots after two periods are even at 17-17 but the Blues have the one-goal lead.

THIRD PERIOD

20:00: The third period has now begun.

16:51: Mark Fayne was sent off for hooking, giving the Blues their second power play of the game.

15:40: Paul Stastny completed a nice three-way passing play at the top of the Oilers crease with a quick tap-in past Talbot to give the visitors a two-goal lead. It was the first power play goal allowed by the Oilers this season. | STL 3, EDM 1



13:23: Taylor Hall busted into the faceoff circle right off the draw and grabbed the puck before driving to the net. He powered the puck past Elliott to make it a one-goal game. | STL 3, EDM 2



10:42: Hall gets dumped in the Blues zone with Edmonton pressuring for the equalizer. Result is a penalty to Robert Bortuzzo for holding and an Oilers power play.

7:47: The Blues kill off the penalty but then a minute later, Scottie Upshall receives two for tripping and the Oilers head back on the power play looking for that elusive equalizer.

7:10: Nugent-Hopkins skates back and breaks up a two-on-none shorthanded chance for St. Louis by stripping the puck from behind.

2:09: Alex Steen scores to give the Blues an insurance marker. | STL 4, EDM 2
