FIRST PERIOD

20:00: Tonight's game starts now.

17:00: Oilers have a 3-1 lead in shots early on.

15:31: Edmonton got on the board first on a one-timer from the point by Mark Fayne, accepting a pass from Matt Hendricks. Fayne's shot found its way past Sens starting netminder Craig Anderson after being redirected off a Sens defenceman in front. | EDM 1, OTT 0

14:50: Jordan Eberle skated in on a two-on-one with Connor McDavid. Eberle used McDavid as a decoy and made a brilliant move before wiring the puck short side. | EDM 2, OTT 0

13:59: Shots on goal are 6-2 for Edmonton.

10:35: Eric Gryba and Max McCormick dropped the gloves deep in the Oilers zone. Each combatant got a shot or two in but overall it was a more of a tug-of-war.

9:07: The first power play of the game went to the Oilers, after Ottawa's Chris Neil got ticketed for interference.

8:44: Only 23 seconds into the man advantage, Jordan Eberle scored his second of the game, wiring a shot from the left circle high blocker side past Anderson to extend Edmonton's lead to 3-0. | EDM 3, OTT 0

8:44: After the goal, the Senators replaced Anderson in goal with Andrew Hammond. Anderson stopped seven of 10 shots.

5:54: It was Ottawa's turn to go on the man advantage with 5:54 to play in the opening frame. Benoit Pouliot received two minutes for hooking.

5:37: The Sens finally got on the board 17 seconds into the PP. Mike Hoffman's shot beat Cam Talbot to make it a 3-1 affair. | EDM 3, OTT 1



4:00: Ottawa gained back some momentum in the game and started outshooting Edmonton 16 minutes into the first by a 12-11 count.

SECOND PERIOD

20:00: The middle frame has begun.

13:33: Kassian broke through three Senators players to create a scoring chance. Hammond stopped his backhand attempt before Kassian slid into the net.

13:14: Ottawa made it a one-goal affair when Mark Stone's shot from the left side boards beat Talbot through the five-hole. | EDM 3, OTT 2



12:58: The Sens had a chance to tie the game when Fayne took a hooking penalty.

9:08: Oilers kill off that one. Shots are 18-17 Ottawa just past the game's midway point.

7:02: Edmonton regained their two-goal lead when Zack Kassian's shot found its way past Hammond along the ice. | EDM 4, OTT 2



5:03: Another fight erupts as Eric Gryba and Zack Smith exchanged blows with just over five minutes to play in the second. It was another even bout, though Smith did manage to pull Gryba to the ice at the end. Gryba went to the dressing room after the fight. 

1:54: Darnell Nurse drove Stone into the boards long after he lost possession of the puck during a rush into the Oilers end. Result of that was an interference penalty and Ottawa's third power play.

0:20: Davidson got nicked when blocking a shot late in the period. He toughed out the shift before getting attention on the bench at the whistle.

0.0: Shots after two were even at 23-23.

THIRD PERIOD

20:00: Period three starts now.

17:54: Shane Prince was caught for tripping, putting the potent Oilers power play back to work.

17:36: While on the power play, Eberle fed the puck to Sekera at the point who blasted it past a screened Hammond to make it a three-goal lead again, for the first time since the opening period. | EDM 5, OTT 2

14:07: The Oilers lead extended to four when Leon Draisiatl picked the blocker side on Hammond off the rush after a great outlet pass from Hall. | EDM 6, OTT 2

13:35: Nurse drops the gloves with Max McCormick and made quick work with his fists of the Senators winger.

12:00: Shots are 29-26 Ottawa eight minutes into the third.

7:47: Shots now 30-27 as the period winds down.

7:17: A high-sticking penalty to Nurse gave Ottawa an opportunity to steal back some momentum late in the game.

4:39: Chris Wideman took an extra shot at McDavid after the whistle and received two minutes for roughing as a result.

3:04: With 25 seconds left in the Wideman penalty, the Oilers scored again on a blast by Brandon Davidson to make it a 7-2 game. | EDM 7, OTT 2
