The changes this season to the Oilers, in terms of production and the team's place in the standings is pretty evident. Mark Letestu, a veteran of the League, says it comes down to a change in mindset and the culture of the franchise.
"That starts right at the top, whether it was Bob Nicholson and Peter [Chiarelli] and Todd [McLellan]; the standard have been elevated here," said Letestu. "We want to be a playoff team; we want to be a Stanley Cup team and in order to be that we have to continue to have our expectations be risen. And right now, yeah, we're in a good spot but we know how quickly it can go. A bad week or two and you're on the outside looking in. I think the satisfaction with where we are, but we're not content with it, we know where we want to go and the work that still has to go in to get there."
The Oilers are feeling good about the season so far, but it's a long haul and the team has a big test tonight against their provincial rivals.
