FIRST PERIOD

20:00: Tonight's game is now underway.

17:38: Buffalo got on the board first after Tyler Myers put home a rebound to make it 1-0 only 2:22 in. | BUF 1, EDM 0

12:29: Edmonton got the game's first power play after Myers was sent off for holding. Shots on goal almost eight minutes into the game were 5-3 for the Oilers.

7:33: Edmonton got back on even terms nearly five minutes later. Matt Fraser took a nice backhand feed from Anton Lander at the bottom of the right circle and quickly released it. Sabres netminder Jhonas Enroth got a piece of it, but not enough as it made its way over the goal line. | EDM 1, BUF 1

4:58: Edmonton doubled their lead less than 90 seconds after the tying goal. Once again, it was Lander who dished the puck, this time to Oscar Klefbom who hammered a shot by Enroth. | EDM 2, BUF 1

3:57: Shots are now 10-7 for the Oil.

0.0: Final shot count after one frame was 12-8 for the host Oilers.

SECOND PERIOD

20:00: Period two starts now.

16:15: Brian Gionta received two minutes for tripping, sending the Oilers on the power play for the second time on the night.

10:29: Near the midway point of period two, the Oilers had a 7-2 edge in shots over the Sabres.

8:34: Tyler Ennis got upended barrelling into the Edmonton zone by Boyd Gordon. The result was Buffalo getting their first power play of the night.

0.0: Shots in period two were also 12-8 for the Oilers. Overall in the game, 24-16 for the home team.

THIRD PERIOD

20:00: Period three is now underway.

15:00: Neither team had a shot on goal five minutes into period three.

14:12: Luke Gazdic dropped the gloves with Nicolas Deslauriers and both combatants threw a multitude of punches and neither was knocked down. After a lengthy swinging match, the officials broke them up.

12:27: The first shot of the period for either team came on a breakaway. Benoit Pouliot tried to lift a backhand over Enroth but was denied by the Sabres goaltender.

12:08: Anton Lander converted 19 seconds later. He worked a nice give-and-go with Teddy Purcell that ended in Purcell dishing the puck cross-crease to the Oilers centre. Lander made no mistake, putting the puck in for his third point of the game. | EDM 3, BUF 1

9:08: Jordan Eberle rang a shot off the post from the high slot.

2:23: Sabres call a 30-second timeout. Shots are 33-17 Oilers (9-1 in the period).

2:02: Shortly after the timeout, Buffalo scored to make it a one-goal game. Rasmus Ristolainen slipped the puck past Ben Scrivens. | EDM 3, BUF 2
