Fasth back in net for the first time since December 27th in Calgary.

12:35: Todd Nelson hasn't lost in regulation, since taking over as the sole head coach on the Oilers bench.

11:21: Pretty slow start to this one, neither team with a prime chance (that hit the target). Shots 7-3 for the RW though.

10:30: History lesson: The Oilers all-time recod against the Red Wings is 59-65-13, with 34 of those wins coming at home.

9:48: Teddy Purcell, in the box. Detroits PP is opporating at 23.1%.

7:09: As Purcell gets his head back in the game, Luke Glendening is in the box. PP Oilers.

6:02: Golden oppprtunity, Danny Dekeyser is in the slammer for delay of game. Gloved it over the boards.

4:31: Inspired by Team Canada's win yesterday? Maybe. maybe not, but either way its Jordan Eberle (9) getting the Oilers on the board first with the PP marker. | EDM 1, DET 0

Boom! Klinkhammer getting physical! Lays a huge hit on the end boards.
0:00: One and done. Oil up a snipe.

Psst... Hey guys, did you know Ryan Nugent-Hopkins owns horse? Did you know he races them? Details HERE.

19:50: Hope you're done reading, second period is underway, folks.

18:37: Nikita Nikitin gets the Oilers a delay of game penatly of their very own... PK time (and I don't mean Subban).

17:00: Lickity Split, Fasth gets over with the kick of his pad. Big save, HUGE!

Justin Schultz breaks up a 2-on-1. Very helpful, says Fasth.

12:58:Matt Hendricks gets a penatly for closing his hand on the puck... I'm just going to leave this here.

9:16: Kyle Quincy (2) ties the game midway through the second frame here in Edmonton. | EDM 1, DET 1

Justin, you have to admit this is funny:

6:00: A long delay because of the following, plus TV time out.
1:40: Eberle gets two PIM to go along with his goal tonight. "Tripping" the call.

1:31: Nine seconds pass and the Red Wings are now up. Abdelkader (10) credited with this PP goal.  | EDM 1, DET 2

Early Oilers get the chance to tie things up, Franzen takes a seet.

14:21: Red Wings have surpassed their shots per game average.  31-16 as it stands now.
12:00: After a solid round of chest pounding by Rexall (you had to be there), Nail Yakupov with a near miss on the redirect.
10:53: Officials opt to NOT call tripping on that last play. Steve, what do you think?

4:55: After about a minute and a half of sustained pressure by Detroit, Fasth, once again, keeping the Oilers within striking distance.

: Well, well, Jordan Eberle (1) is in fine for tonight folks. Back door feed from Nuge, and the Oilers tie it up! | EDM 2, DET 2

A little adversity.  Benoit Pouliot gets four minutes for spearing. PK for the Oil for the rest of the game.

:34: Unless that happened. With 34 seconds left on the clock the Red Wings score second PP goal, and take the lead. Datsyuk, no surprise there. | EDM 2, DET 3

:03: Detroit adds an empty net goal to make the final score 4-2.
