The Edmonton Oilers play their fourth game of the regular season tonight. Ryan Hamilton is out with an injury which means Ryan Smyth draws back in. Devan Dubnyk also gets the start after LaBarbera played Monday.

Tonight's game is now underway.

19:34: Rene Bourque took a tripping penalty early in the game to give the Oilers the game's first man advantage.

17:19: Just as the penalty expired, Alex Galchenyuk took a penalty to put Edmonton back on the power play.

15:40: The closest the Oilers come to scoring on that power play is when Yakupov tried to jam it on on the right post but Habs netminder Peter Budaj was there to make the stop.

14:36: Yakupov was sent to the box for cross-checking, putting Montreal up a man for the first time on the evening.

11:49: Luke Gazdic hammers Josh Gorges into the end boards and then has to answer for it as Brandon Prust drops his gloves with the Oilers tough guy. The bout is relatively even until Prust takes a sharp right from Gazdic and tumbles down.
     Gazdic with a huge hit on Gorges and he immediately drops the gloves with Prust. A brilliant scrap. Great tilt.
3:21: Rene Bourque fires a shot off the post but it doesn't find its way into the net, keeping the game scoreless.
     Rene Bourque who scored a whack of goals as Flame vs Oilers just made an appearance and rang one off iron on Dubnyk.
0:00: The first period comes to an end, with the Habs outshooting the Oilers 12-9.


Second period is now underway.

19:00: Montreal takes a penalty for having too many men on the ice, putting Edmonton on the power play for the third time on the night.

17:32: Nugent-Hopkins makes a nice pass, spotting Taylor Hall perched at the left side of the net and Hall centres it where the puck is redirected by Ryan Smyth and in. | EDM 1, MTL 0
11:25: Nick Schultz gets sent off for cross-checking as Montreal starts to press a bit in the Edmonton zone.

10:36: Edmonton native Brendan Gallagher one-times a pass from Alex Galchenyuk past Dubnyk to tie the game up. | EDM 1, MTL 1
7:55: Brandon Prust, stationed in front of the net, bangs in a rebound to put Montreal in the lead. | MTL 2, EDM 1
3:01: Ales Hemsky is denied by Peter Budaj on a two-on-one opportunity with Taylor Hall coming down the other wing in a dangerous position.

0:00: Shots on goal after 40 minutes are 20-19 for Montreal.


Third period is now underway.

18:55: In keeping with the Josh Gorges rubber ball theme on the night, Taylor Hall bounces off the Habs defenceman in the Montreal zone.

13:30: Oilers have three quick chances in front of Budaj and manage to get one on net. Shots are 24-23 Montreal.

11:20: Dubnyk makes a huge stop on Gallagher after the puck skips on Petry deep in the Oilers end, keeping it a one-goal game.

7:45: Gallagher skates in on a two-on-one with Galchenyuk. He feeds the puck over to Galchenyuk, who puts the puck in blocker side past Dubnyk. | MTL 3, EDM 1

7:27: Lars Eller crushes Taylor Hall into the boards, giving the Oilers a power play opportunity to get back into the game.
     Eller blatantly drills Hall into the boards from behind. Fortunately #4 is fine and the get a PP! 2 mins for boarding.
5:27: Montreal kills off the penalty.

3:30: Oilers pull Dubnyk for the extra attacker.

2:45: Taylor Hall feeds Hemsky with a feed and Hemsky rings it off the post short side.
