Luke Gazdic is not skating the pre-game warmup, meaning that Ryan Jones and Nail Yakupov are both in for tonight's game against the Penguins.

Jason LaBarbera also led the team out onto the ice, meaning he will start his second consecutive game.

16:52: Pascal Dupuis took a pass from Sidney Crosby, who was stationed behind the Oilers net, and Dupuis fired it five-hole past LaBarbera to put the Penguins on the board. | PIT 1, EDM 0
8:25: With just over eight minutes to play in the opening period, Pittsburgh had the decided edge in play, outshooting the Oilers 9-2.

6:56: Ryan Smyth made a nice feed over to Justin Schultz who was pinching up the middle. Schultz was all alone and tried to deke but Pens netminder Marc-Andre Fleury made a nice stop.
4:03: On a quick rebound, Jason LaBarbera extends his pad and makes a nice stop on Harry Zolnierczyk right on the doorstep.

2:40: Jokinen's shot from the left circle is stopped by LaBarbera but it dribbles past the Oilers netminder. Anton Belov was able to jump in there and ensure it didn't cross the line.

2:04: Smyth put his hand on the puck in the corner of his own zone, sending him to the box for two minutes, giving the Penguins the game's first power play.

1:42: The penalty was shortlived as Malkin was sent off for tripping only 22 seconds later.

24.1: Pittsburgh takes another penalty, Paul Martin heads to the box. During the delayed penalty, the Oilers were buzzing around the Pittsburgh net but unable to convert.

Second period is underway, with Oilers holding a two-man advantage for the first 18 seconds.

18:28: Oilers manage five shots in the opening 1:32 of the period but cannot score on the Penguins power play.

18:21: Very next shift, after the penalty expires the puck sneaks in behind Fleury and Hemsky swoops in to hammer it past the goal line. | EDM 1, PIT 1
16:21: Oilers come close to taking the lead as Taylor Hall scrambles for a loose puck in front. In the mayhem, Fleury's mask gets dislodged which forces a whistle.

10:17: Sidney Crosby's shot is stopped by LaBarbera, but he doesn't get all of it. The puck trickles to the line where Chris Kunitz pokes it in. | PIT 2, EDM 1
7:00: Shots on goal are 19-16 for Pittsburgh -- 13-4 for Edmonton in the period at the 13-minute mark.

4:01: Jordan Eberle puts the puck over Fleury after several attempts by the Oilers on a good shift by Eberle, Hall and Arcobello. | EDM 2, PIT 2
1:50: Ladislav Smid takes a cross-checking penalty.

0.0: After two, shots on goal are 24-19 for Pittsburgh.


Third period is now underway. 

15:50: LaBarbera gets a piece of a one-timer attempt from Dupuis, keeping it tied.

13:08: Ference clips Sidney Crosby with a high stick and is sent to the box, giving Pittsburgh a power play opportunity to take the lead.

12:40: It doesn't take Pittsburgh long to take the lead. 28 seconds into the power play, Evgeni Malkin one-times a blast from the right circle past LaBarbera to make it 3-2. | PIT 3, EDM 2
11:28: Very next shift, Eberle, Hall and Arcobello put on some great pressure in the Pens zone and as a result draw a penalty on Dupuis for hooking.

2:25: Shots on goal late in the period are 28-21 for the Penguins.
