FIRST PERIOD

20:00: Tonight's game is now underway.

15:00: Five minutes into the game, the Leafs had a 3-1 edge in shots over the Oilers.

8:50: Oilers start to carry the play; they are now outshooting Toronto 7-5. 

7:50: Best chance of the game came when an odd bounce gave Derek Roy a partial breakaway. Roy tried to shoot blocker side but was denied by Leafs starting goaltender James Reimer.

1:44: Rob Klinkhmmer and David Booth dropped the gloves for a quick fight near the end of the opening frame. Booth blindsided Matt Hendricks and Klinkhammer quickly jumped in to fight the Leafs winger. It was a quick one, with Klinkhammer getting the extra two minutes. Result was Toronto getting the first power play on the night.

5.4: Jeff Petry received two minutes for cross-checking in front of the Oilers net, giving the Leafs a brief two-man advantage to end the first period and another 16 seconds of five-on-three time to start period two.

0.0: Shots on goal after one were 9-8 for Toronto. Intermission entertainment: watch as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins met with Mississauge minor hockey phenom Patrick Thomas this morning.



SECOND PERIOD

20:00: Period two has begun. Toronto has a two-man advantage for the first 16 seconds of the period and will be on the power play for the first 1:55 of the frame.  

15:58: Viktor Fasth came up with a huge save on Tyler Bozak after a centring pass from Phil Kessel. Fasth then extended his pad to make a second stop on the rebound on James van Riemsdyk.

12:59: Shots on goal seven minutes into the second period are 13-12 for Toronto.

12:04: Matt Fraser gets two minutes for holding, giving the Leafs their third power play of the game.

11:04: One minute into the power play, the Leafs strike for the game's first goal. Richard Panik one-timed a shot from the top of the left circle after taking a feed off the side boards from Peter Holland. Fasth got a piece of it, but not enough as the puck trickled across the goal line. | TOR 1, EDM 0



9:26: Toronto made it 2-0 less than two minutes later. Phil Kessel's shot from the right circle snuck through the five-hole of Viktor Fasth and in. | TOR 2, EDM 0



6:50: Jordan Eberle snuck in behind the Leafs defence and broke in alone on Reimer. Eberle's shot rang off the post behind the Toronto goaltender.

6:34: Moments later, Toronto struck again to make it 3-0. Morgan Rielly made a great move while pinching in with the puck before roofing it on Fasth for the goal. | TOR 3, EDM 0



4:04: Shots are 19-17 Toronto.

3:55: Phil Kessel gets two minutes for slashing, sending the Oilers on their first power play of the game.

0.0: Shots after two periods were 20 for each side.

THIRD PERIOD

20:00: The third period is now underway.

19:21: Mike Santorelli wired a shot from the right circle over Fasth's shoulder and under the crossbar to extend Toronto's lead to 4-0 early in the third. | TOR 4, EDM 0



17:27: A quick shot from the slot by Eberle is knocked away by Reimer.

10:02: Toronto extends its lead to 5-0 after Peter Holland dekes out Fasth on a breakaway. | TOR 5, EDM 0



9:12: Phil Kessel got in behind the Oilers defence but was stopped by Fasth's glove on his breakaway attempt.

2:46: Oilers go back on the power play late in the third.

2.3: Luke Gazdic scored with two seconds left, banging home a rebound to spoil Reimer's shutout bid. | TOR 5, EDM 1
