The Edmonton Oilers meet Calgary for the third time this season, second time this week and second time in Calgary. We'll be updating the action from the game as it happens. We'll also be adding photos, videos from big plays and more throughout the game.

The Oilers are going with the same line combos and defence pairings that they had in the last couple games.

Line Combinations (and defence pairings) for the Oilers:

Hall - Nugent-Hopkins - Eberle
Paajarvi - Gagner - Hemsky
Jones - Horcoff - Yakupov
Petrell - Smyth - Brown

Smid - Petry
N.Schultz - J.Schultz
Whitney - Potter

20:00: Tonight's game is now underway.

17:25: The Flames get on the board early in the opening period as the puck bounces to Matt Stajan in the slot. Stajan whacked at a bouncing puck and it found its way past Dubnyk and into the back of the net. | CGY 1, EDM 0

15:33: Mike Brown drops the gloves with Steve Begin for a quick bout that sees both combatants fall to the ice after some fast punches were exchanged.

14:42: Calgary strikes again to double their lead to 2-0. Curtis Glencross's backhand attempt goes off the post behind Dubnyk and straight out to Stajan who makes no mistake, putting the puck into the open net. | CGY 2, EDM 0

10:33: Oilers get one back. Jeff Petry tees up a shot from the right point that's tipped on its way to the net by Sam Gagner. | CGY 2, EDM 1

7:01: The Oilers tied the game at 2-2 after Taylor Hall spotted Ryan Whitney pinching in down at the left faceoff circle. Whitney picked up the puck and wristed it past MacDonald, who was out of position on the play and trying to scramble back. | EDM 2, CGY 2
Cleaned it up, just like that. 2-2.

54.8: Oilers come close to taking the lead as MacDonald makes a nice stop off Justin Schultz and then slides across to stop Eberle on the rebound.

54.8: Mikael Backlund takes two minutes for faceoff violation after moving the puck with his hand off the draw. That puts the Oilers on their first power play of the night.

0:00: Shots on goal after one period are 14 to 4 in favour of the Oilers.

Justin Schultz was a minus 2 for the period. Corey Potter, Sam Gagner and Ladislav Smid were each +1. ... The fight between Brown and Begin was the first in an Oilers/Flames game in a span of 12 contests.

20:00: The middle frame is now underway.

19:01: Edmonton's best chance on the power play comes as Jordan Eberle takes the puck in the corner and cuts to the front of the net. He fires a dangerous shot on net but MacDonald comes up with a big stop.

17:39: Mike Cammelleri trips up Nail Yakupov in the neutral zone and is sent off for tripping, giving the Oilers their second power play of the night.

16:26: With time winding down in the penalty, Nail Yakupov teed up a blast from the right circle that beat MacDonald and moved the Oilers in front for the first time in the game. | EDM 3, CGY 2

14:44: Devan Dubnyk skated out to play the puck and it took a wild bounce on him. Backlund looked to have an open net but Dubnyk dove in front. The puck went off either Dubnyk or Whitney in front and bounced out of harm's way.

13:26: Corey Sarich is sent to the box after crosschecking Magnus Paajarvi into the Flames net, giving the Oilers their third power play of the game.

12:21: Taylor Hall gets a fortunate bounce on the man advantage and puts it into the open net. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Justin Schultz got the assists. | EDM 4, CGY 2

10:55: Jordan Eberle is clipped with a high stick by Chris Butler and the penalty parade continues for the Flames.

10:09: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins pounces on a Taylor Hall rebound to score Edmonton's third power play goal of the night to extend the Oilers lead to 5-2. | EDM 5, CGY 2

5-2 lead. Hall with another 3 points tonight -- that's 13 in his past 6 games. Unreal.

3:54: Yakupov blasts a shot from the right circle that MacDonald gets a piece of. The puck trickles past him but not enough to cross the goal line.

Remember with the Hall stats that he's missed 3 games this year, too. He's 6th in the NHL with 1.18 points per game.

Shawn Horcoff is sent off for hooking, giving Calgary its first man advantage of the night.

0:00: Shots on goal after 40 minutes are 26 to 11 for the Oilers.

Taylor Hall is now tied for eighth in scoring in the NHL with Nazem Kadri and John Tavares. ... Hall and Nugent-Hopkins are leading the way with a goal and two assists apiece in this game. ... Ryan Whitney has a goal and an assist as does Sam Gagner.

Hall now 2nd among NHL left wingers in scoring (Chris Kunitz of PIT) after passing Ovechkin earlier tonight.

20:00: The third period is now underway.

14:17: Tempers flare on both sides as a scrum breaks out in front of Joey MacDonald. Chris Butler and Curtis Glencross head to the box for Calgary while Nail Yakupov gets two for roughing and Ryan Jones gets five for fighting Butler.

9:56: Jordan Eberle picked up a loose puck at the top of the crease and put it in during a goalmouth scramble in front to make it a 6-2 game for Edmonton. | EDM 6, CGY 2

6:45: Ryan Whitney completes the Gordie Howe Hat Trick with a brief bout against Calgary's Tim Jackman.

Whitney and Jackman mix it up now and that'd be a well deserved Gordie Howe Hat Trick for the blueliner!

2:41: Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle complete a nice passing play to extend the Oilers lead to five goals. | EDM 7, CGY 2

1:03: Nail Yakupov scores his second of the game to make it a full-on rout. | EDM 8, CGY 2
