The third period is now underway. It is announced that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will not be returning to the game tonight.

16:25: Houston regains the lead when Joel Broda fires the puck past Danis but it trickles right across the goal line. Chad Rau then picks up the puck at the right post and jams it in during another broken play. | HOU 5, OKC 4

13:26: A bunch of fights break out. Colten Teubert drops the gloves with Brett Bulmer and beats him down, decisively. Drew Bagnall is also bettered by Dane Byers. Teubert received an instigating penalty and game misconduct while Byers and Bagnall got game misconducts for a secondary altercation.

13:04: Plante takes a cross-checking penalty to put the Barons down two men.

10:25: Barons kill off the penalties and then get a power play of their own when Brodin gets sent off for high sticking.

6:30: After two straight power plays, Oklahoma City still trails by a goal. Shots are 30 to 19 for Houston.

4:48: Aeros take a two-goal lead as Fontaine nets his second of the game, putting home a rebound after McMillan had the initial shot. | HOU 6, OKC 4

0:00: The buzzer sounds; Aeros win and outshoot Barons 39 to 22.


The second period is now underway.

19:21: Tanner House and Joel Broda engage in a spirited fight. Both players took wild swings at the other. On the same play, Houston has a penalty for contact to the head to put the Barons up a man.

17:30: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is clipped with a high stick and has to go to the dressing room for repairs.

17:21: Aeros take another penalty, followed by yet another 45 seconds later as Jordan Eberle is clipped.

15:30: Barons look to have scored during a wild goalmouth scramble. The goal light goes on but upon further review on video replay, it's ruled that the puck did not cross the goal line.

14:00: Houston kills off the entire series of penalties.

13:56: Brandon Davidson takes a penalty, putting the Aeros back on the power play.

12:44: Mikael Granlund tees up a shot from the top of the right faceoff circle past Danis to tie the game up at 3-3. | OKC 3, HOU 3

5:03: A wild bounce off the end boards results in Houston regaining the lead at 4-3. The puck took a weird hop before ending up right in front to Carson McMillan. McMillan makes no mistake, putting it into the open net for the goal. | HOU 4, OKC 3

18.0: With time winding down in the period, Arcobello swooped in to poke the puck past Kuemper during a goalmouth scramble. | OKC 4, HOU 4

Tonight's game is now underway.

14:10: Aeros strike for the first goal of the game. Off the faceoff, Charlie Coyle picks up a loose puck outside the crease and shovels it in past Danis. | HOU 1, OKC 0

11:41: David McIntyre takes a penalty for high sticking, giving Oklahoma City the game's first power play. To this point, they are being outshot 4-1 by Houston.

10:36: It takes the Barons just over a minute to convert. Magnus Paajarvi lets a wrist shot go from the top of the left circle that beats Matt Hackett. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Justin Schultz get the assists. | OKC 1, HOU 1

7:39: Tanner House takes a pass from Dane Byers off the rush and chips it past Hackett for the goal. Schultz gets the other helper. | OKC 2, HOU 1

7:17: Martin Marincin takes an interference penalty to give Houston their first man advantage of the evening.

5:18: With one second remaining in the Marincin penalty, the Aeros' Jonas Brodin fire a point shot that is tipped on its way to the net by Justin Fontaine and ties the game up once again.  | OKC 2, HOU 2

4:39: Mark Arcobello backhands a shot from in-close past Hackett to put the Barons back in front. Paajarvi and Marincin get assists on that play. | OKC 3, HOU 2

4:39: The Barons goal results in Hackett getting pulled from the game. He allowed three goals on five shots.

0:00: First period comes to an end. Shots on goal were 13 to 7 for Houston but the Barons had a 3-2 lead.

The Oklahoma City Barons meet the Houston Aeros for the first time this season and first of their next three-in-four games. We'll be updating the action from the game as it happens. We'll also be adding photos, videos from big plays and more throughout the game.

The Barons are making a few roster moves tonight. Alex Plante moves back into the lineup and Dan Ringwald is out. Up front, Antti Tyrvainen is out and Tanner House draws in. Kristians Pelss is also out. Jordan Eberle had an abbreviated morning skate but is in the lineup tonight.
