Gryba making most of his chance

Eric Gryba is still on the pre-season roster, which means he's still got a chance to make the team out of camp. The 28-year-old blueliner signed a PTO contract to come to camp and compete for a spot. He's done well so far to last and make it to the final pre-season game, which takes place Saturday.
"I'm pretty happy with my game all around," said Gryba. "I'm just trying to improve every day and work on things, but all-in-all, pretty good."
Gryba hasn't had to treat this year's camp any differently, despite not having a contract signed.
"Like I said at the start, I've got to come in and earn a spot every single training camp. The only difference is I don't have a contract going into this one. It's obviously a little more pressure, a little more stress but it's part of the business."
As for where the Oilers are at on a decision at D, they have to sort out their injury situation before they decide whether to keep seven or eight blueliners.
"A lot of it will depend on injuries and the personnel we have in and around our locker room at the time where we'll make the announcement of the 23-man roster," said Oilers Head Coach Todd McLellan.
