EDMONTON, AB - Another Wisconsin win, another Dylan Holloway goal.
Edmonton's 14th-overall selection from last month's NHL Draft made the most of his brief NCAA season debut with the Badgers this weekend, scoring a power-play marker on Friday and a highlight-reel, even-strength tally on Saturday as his team swept their road back-to-back against Notre Dame.
The sophomore forward received a pass just before centre ice, darted into the attacking zone, skated wide down the left side, curled around the net, turned sharply and sniped a wrist shot over the goalie's short-side shoulder for the eventual game-winner in Wisconsin's 5-3 victory.
With two goals in two games, Holloway will now take a hiatus from Wisconsin and shift his focus to Hockey Canada for hopefully the next eight weeks as he vies for a spot on the national team that will compete at the World Junior Championship in Edmonton.
The 47-player selection camp starts Monday in Red Deer and runs until Dec. 13 when the final roster will head north to defend their title at the U-20 tournament, Dec. 25 to Jan. 5 at Rogers Place.
