FUTURE WATCH: Bouchard named to Canada's 2019 World Junior selection camp

Oilers defence prospect will attend camp when it begins on Dec. 10, in Victoria

EDMONTON, AB - Oilers prospect Evan Bouchard was named to Team Canada's selection camp for the upcoming 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship on Monday.

The Oakville, ON, product and London Knights defender will attend the camp when it begins on Dec. 10, in Victoria. The event itself will be held in Victoria and Vancouver, BC, beginning Dec. 26.

Bouchard has five goals and 15 points in 11 games with the Knights this season. The rearguard also appeared in seven outings with the Oilers, scoring one goal.

"It's a deep group. A skilled group, a high hockey IQ group, a fast group and a group that can play and think the game fast as well," said Team Canada Head Coach Tim Hunter. "You can never have too much skill. There's a lot of boxes that we have that each player had to check off.

"Ninety-nine percent of the boxes got checked with 99 percent of the players. We're thrilled with that."
