The final online auction held by the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation during the 2007-08 hockey season concluded Friday, May 9th when bidding closed on the Online Oilers Locker Room Charity Auction.
Through the entire season, starting with the Power of Pink Online Auction in October ’07 and ending with the year-end Locker Room Charity Auction, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation has offered Oilers fans and Foundation supporters world wide the chance to bid on a wide variety of items during a total of five online auctions.
As a result, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation is able to extend the work they do in the community with over $201,288 dollars in net proceeds. Those proceeds will further add to the over $1million dollars donated to Registered Charities throughout Central and Northern Alberta who focus their activities on Youth, Education, Health and Wellness.
Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation Executive Director Natalie Minckler said, “These online auctions brings events such as Power of Pink, Holiday Oilers Events, Tickets for Troops, Valentine’s Puck Surprise, and the Locker Room Sale, to fans who can participate and contribute to the Foundation wherever they live. While we appreciate the support, we also especially appreciate that they are able to be a part of the Oilers world while helping the Foundation change lives here in Oil Country.”
