The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and the Oilers Ladies proudly presented a cheque to Edmonton’s Women’s Shelter - WIN House today for $22,976. This donation stems from a new initiative called Oilers Favourite Things where the Oilers Ladies created baskets containing each of the players’ favourite items. Baskets were auctioned off at Oilers home games between January 27th and February 24th.

“All the Oilers wives and girlfriends joined together for this great initiative to give fans a chance to get to know the players and support a great cause,” said Ornella Moreau, Ethan Moreau’s wife. “The fans gave generously and we’re happy to make this donation which supports women in our community.”
The Oilers Ladies outdid themselves with highly coveted items like an Ovechkin signed jersey, a fishing trip with Zack Stortini and Ethan Moreau’s luxury suite for an Oilers game at Rexall Place. Kyle Brodziak’s basket yielded the highest bids bringing in $3,500; the basket included a Gretzky autographed jersey and a round of golf with Kyle.
“The Oilers Favourite Things program has been yet another example of our players and their families’ commitment to our community,” said EOCF Executive Director, Natalie Minckler. “The Oilers Ladies have gone above and beyond to make this program a true success.”
