Tonight's game is now underway.

19:59: Connor McDavid, Taylor Hall and Teddy Purcell were the opening line for Edmonton.

17:45: Edmonton had the first three shots on goal, but Calgary got the game's first power play. Andrew Miller received two minutes for slashing.

12:00: Shots on goal are 6-3 for Edmonton as the first period approaches the midway point.

8:15: Brandon Davidson puts Calgary right back on the power play.

5:27: The Oilers get on the board first. Andrew Miller's shot from the right circle beats Flames netminder Kari Ramo blocker side to give Edmonton the lead. | EDM 1, CGY 0

4:46: Calgary strikes back only 41 seconds later. Their number 58, Olivier Kylington, wired a shot by Cam Talbot to get the visitors back on even terms. | EDM 1, CGY 1

Period two has started.

15:41: Kari Ramo makes a nice glove save off a quick snapper by Miller off the side wall. Shots are 11-8 Oilers early in the second.

10:56: Oilers continue to dominate play in the middle frame, now outshooting Calgary 15-8 overall (7-1 in the period).

9:21: Calgary made Cam Talbot work for it, peppering him with six shots in about 90 seconds before he managed to smother the puck. That spelled the end of the night for him. Talbot stopped 13 of 14 shots. Coming into net for the Oilers was Laurent Brossoit. 

8:24: Edmonton went on the power play just past the midway point of the period. Turner Elson went to the box.

6:32: With eight seconds left in the penalty, Calgary scored a shorthanded goal. Markus Granlund took a shot that Brossoit got a piece of, but not enough of it. | CGY 2, EDM 1

1:50: Shots are 20-17 Oilers with period two winding down.

53.0: Josh Winquist got crushed behind the Flames net into the boards by Deryk Engelland, sending the Oilers back on the man advantage.

0.0: Shot count after 40 was 21-17 Oilers. In period two, it was 12-10 for Edmonton.


Period three starts with the Oilers on the power play for another 1:07. Mason McDonald opened the third period in goal for the Flames. Closing the book on Ramo, he stopped 20 of 21 shots. 

16:04: Dennis Wideman took a cross-checking penalty to put the Oilers power play back on the ice once again but they were unable to convert.

10:30: Edmonton goes right back on the man advantage, but again they are unable to find a way to put the puck in the back of the net.

6:25: Leon Draisaitl scooped up the puck in front of the net and ripped it past McDonald to get the Oilers back on even terms. | EDM 2, CGY 2

3:20: Anton Lander scores to give the Oilers the lead at 3-2. | EDM 3, CGY 2
